• Still healing

These few weeks have been tough. Behaviour that is beyond my control got to me, I feel mentally tired and burdened. It has been more than 3 years since, and almost a year into this new routine.

I try and occupy my hands with meal preparation, finding comfort in multiple literary audioworks, and clocking steps outdoors.

I read of similar situations, restarted therapy and did not expect tears to return. The tears are from grieving a union that is broken, navigating years alone, and from the actions I had to witness. The tears are also from frustration to have to deal with unnecessary shaking up of things there were heading towards light.

And all these while, I lay low, quiet away from the few friends that I have. It’s a decision I made on my own, I shall bear it alone. Why do I keep thinking that my friends disappointed me by not reaching out?

I can only pray for resilience, for a sound mind and replacement of resentment with gratitude and joy.

Here’s a really beautiful story, about sad yet beautiful one.

  • Hello

I created this space to write about my days of rebuilding life after divorce.

It was a contested divorce and proceedings took 2 and a half years to arrive at dissolution of the marriage. The process was painful and unpleasant; I was painted as a neglectful mother with anger management issues and I felt stressed whenever I received an email from my lawyer. I also saw from the actions that took place and documents filed that I was no longer a person loved by the person whom I married.

My marriage ended and I am happier than ever before. I have a bright and cheeky 6-year-old boy who relies on me and yet challenges me to be an even better version of myself. I am thankful for motherhood.

Colour pencil shavings in my drinking cup, I cannot remember if I did that.

I hope my writings about simple living as a single mother will instil more discipline in me, and bring comfort and small joys to people who are going through or have gone through a similar situation.
